Posted an RFP Sep 24 for managed IT services, due Oct 14. Its IT coordinator role has been open since August.
One rep, one territory, one week with TIP.
Follow a fictional account executive at a managed IT provider who covers Harlow County, selling to towns, schools and small businesses. The daily list is where each day starts. The brief and the territory view are what she works from. Every account, town and county here is fictional. For the full picture for this kind of team, see TIP for MSPs selling to local government.
A short list worth the day, each with a reason.
Her territory has a few hundred accounts. Monday's list has a handful, each with what changed, who to ask for and the record behind it. She doesn't have to dig through bid boards or agendas to find them.
The town RFP is open, so she goes through the procurement contact named in it. The county is earlier in the process, so a call to the administrator's office is fair game.
Awarded a state cybersecurity grant in September. The county's IT director left in July and the role is posted.
Five minutes on the brief before the call.
Before she reaches the procurement contact, she opens the account brief. It puts the town's recent changes in order, lists the roles on record, and links every fact to its source, so she can ask a better first question than "Are you happy with your IT provider?"

Nothing cleared the bar, and the list says so.
Some days nothing new is worth her time. TIP doesn't pad the list to look busy. She spends the day on follow-ups from Monday and on the customers she already has.
Nothing new in your territory cleared the bar today. Two follow-ups from Monday are still open.
Spend the day where the territory is active.
The territory view shows which parts of Harlow County have accounts worth her time this week and which are quiet, so she can group calls and visits instead of crossing the county twice. It's not a route planner; distances are straight-line.
- Harlow County3 accounts worth a visit · ownership change, grant award, new permit
- Brackmoor corridor2 accounts worth a visit · RFP, job posting
- Kestrel FallsQuiet this week. Nothing cleared the bar.
One tap to log it. One tap to flag what's off.
She logs the call to the county and the visit to a dental practice that is opening a second office. One record looks out of date, so she flags it and it goes back to be checked. What reps report improves next week's list.
Filed a tenant improvement permit in August for a second office, and posted three clinical and front desk roles in September. A new office needs network, phones and security set up before it opens.
All accounts, places and dates on this page are fictional and shown for illustration. Distances are straight-line.
